JOB PURPOSE |
A Sonographer is needed to run the ultrasound scan services under the radiology and imaging section at Clinison Medical centre Soroti. This will assist our doctors in making appropriate diagnosis and management plans for various medical conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES |
Preparing patients for ultrasound procedures.
Explaining procedures to patients and answering their questions.
Positioning patients and equipment to obtain the best possible images.
Conducting ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols.
Evaluating images for quality and making adjustments as needed.
Documenting images and findings in the patient's medical record.
Maintaining equipment and ensuring its cleanliness and proper functioning.
Staying current on new developments in the field of ultrasound technology.
Determining the type of ultrasound procedure to be performed based on the patient's condition.
Providing training to other healthcare staff (CME).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS |
A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Radiography or Sonography from a reputable institution or university.
A license or certification from Allied Health Professionals Council or Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
3 years’ experience working in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or community health center.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with other healthcare professionals.
SKILLS |
Technical proficiency with ultrasound equipment.
Advanced computer skills, including experience with specialized software.
Sound knowledge of ultrasound physics and pathology.
The ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
